As I talked about in a couple posts back my brother was in town to help my dad move here to California. They arrived early Monday morning due to being stuck in all day Sunday, from Las Vegas. They got a glimpse of LA traffic so that was a much needed rest day for them.
We woke up early every morning and came back in the evening, I burnt them out! But they wanted to maximize the time. When the weekend hit we were pooped and I some how still managed MommyCon!
Tuesday: Manhattan Beach + Beverly Hills + Nespresso + Panini Cafe
Honestly, I don’t have a favorite beach so I randomly picked Manhattan Beach. I like going to the beach early in the morning this way the sand isn’t hot when I step into it and the sun isn’t beating on my skin.
Since we were in the city I decided to take them to Beverly Hills so I could re-stock our Nespresso capsules at their boutique location. I get my coffee addiction from my dad so naturally it was a necessary trip. Plus this location isn’t just a store, but a legit coffee shop.
Wednesday: Griffith Observatory + Original Farmers Market + LACMA
The Hollywood sign was on my brother’s wish list. Now I have no idea how close you can get to the sign, so the only thing that came to mind was the Griffith Observatory. You get to see the sign and get a great panoramic view of Los Angeles.
For the past years I’ve been wanting to check out the Urban Lamps at the LACMA, but never wanted to on the weekend. So it was the perfect opportunity, first swing by the Original Farmer’s Market for lunch then walk down to the LACMA; it was walking distance.
Thursday: Santa Monica Pier + Goorin Bros + Getty Villa
My brother and dad are huge fans of Goorin Bros. Hat Shop, they are growing their collection and wanted to check out the store in Santa Monica. Before the store opened we roamed around the Santa Monica Pier and grabbed some souvenirs for my brother’s kids.
Now that I’m thinking about this we did a lot that day! Later, we went to the Getty Villa, I didn’t realize you had to RSVP, but thank gosh it was a weekday and we were able to enter. There actually is another Getty, however I prefer this location. What I like about The Getty there is no admissions fee just a reasonable parking fee.
Friday: Venice Beach + Muscle Beach + Venice Canals
My dad wanted to check out Muscle Beach because he always heard about it from movies and well known weightlifters. I took advantage and also swung by the Venice Canals, until we get to see the real ones. My brother actually really liked Venice Beach, he said it felt cleaner, more sand coverage, and the boardwalk had the California vibe.
