This past weekend our family attended the 2nd Annual Fair Trade Fashion Show in Los Angeles, CA. I came across the event from Amy, a local mommy friend’s Instagram. Take a peak at her profile, she has such a beautiful feed that mimics her personality!
The event was hosted by Sica Schmitz the owner of Bead & Reel and Katie Bond the founder of The Peace Exchange. This fundraiser showcased a variety of items from the artisans such as women, mens, baby clothes, and accessories.
All of the profits from the fundraiser, were donated to The Peace Exchange’s non-profit sewing centers that are based out in the Congo. They are even members of the Fair Trade Federation to ensure positive partnerships are made.
These aren’t just about organic clothes, but instead the whole process from start to finish.
There is so much about fair trade I had no idea about. A few things that caught my attention were fair wages, no child labor, and non toxic pesticides ?.
They even had baby clothes from PACT that you can also purchase from Bead and Reel they are organic, non-GMO, and ethically manufactured. The patterns are unique, subtle with the balanced colors. I’m still accepting Cataleyas doesn’t wear baby clothes anymore ?.
