Better Late Then Never ?

When Cataleya was born we moved into a new place when she was just a week old. I was surprised we were even able to somewhat putĀ together her nursery three months later.

Then we realized she was barely in there because she slept with us in the bed, well she still does. Ā Since last August I’ve slowly put her room together and can you believe I still have not finished it! Its just one wall really.

At this point I’ve been thinking of converting it into more of a playroom. I’m just still stuck where or what to do with her crib, she does take a nap in it during the day.Thats actually the wall I’m still not quite sure what to do with. I had tons of ideas, but then I got all concerned aboutĀ earthquakes, and things falling on herĀ and just halted on finishing.

I’m determined to complete this room and the one thing I absolutely needed was a rug! Thankfully my husband trained our chihuahua’sĀ to not go into carpeted spaces. Its just and old habit that I can’t get rid of avoiding rugs.

Before Cataleya was even born I’ve had my heart on Lorena Canals rugs. I really like that they are machine-washable andĀ natural dye’sĀ are used.Ā Having an interior design background, I’m aware of the VOCs () Ā and really try to select items to reduce those in our household.

We previously had a “mini” rug and boy did that get messy. I can’t tell you how many times I washed it and eventually had to throw it away. Having a rug that I can toss in a washer is essential and worth the investment. Did I mention they are pretty light weight? You’re not going to break a sweat hauling it to your washer.

The next challenge was picking which one to go with her nursery and I’m so appreciative that Lorena Canals sent us a rug. I knew I wanted pink, and pattern to compliment her curtains. After hours of debating between the Mix Aarty Flamingo, The Reversible and Non ReversibleĀ of the Biscuit, I just couldn’t get my eyes off the dots!

What’s the one thing that is the crowning piece in your nursery’s or playroom?
