Picked Up a Couple Beautiful Succulents

This past Saturday was our niece’s 1st birthday down in Irvine, CA. Before the party we swung by OC Succulents & California Greenhouse because they were hosting their annual free succulent day.

waiting in line, greenhouse, succulent nursery

We tried to get there right at 8am to beat the crowds. However, when do you really ever leave the house on time with kids? We weren’t too off schedule, just an hour behind.

succulents, 4 inch succulents

When we got there we immediately seen the loooonng line and almost turned right back around. Thankfully we asked a staff member and assured us the line was only if you decided to pick up more than one succulent or bigger than 4″.

I had no idea how many unique succulents there were! I’m use to the ones that look like a flower with a hint of color on the ends, not sure what they are called.

I was reading on their Facebook Page that they gave over 10,000 plants that day, wow!!!

Drought Tolerant Nursery

If you’re in the Orange County area, take a look at their nursery, its quite big and the arrangements are cute. Plus, I had no idea there are nurseries that focused/specialized in drought tolerant plants.

Do you have any succulents?  Besides them being pretty, I like how they are low maintenance for someone who doesn’t have a green thumb,…like me.

  1. What an awesome marketing idea. Free succulents. I had never seen the flowering ones. I know you’ll go back and purchase a few more. I know I would. 🙂 Good article.

  2. This post really inspires me to move to Cali because all of the wonderful activities that you blog about but my husband loves the East Coast, so I will just enjoy it through your blog. ? This one looks super amazing!
